Iaso is Theophora's recovery line — soft gowns and patient-focused essentials designed for comfort, practicality and dignity through treatment, recovery, and long hospital stays.

Iaso is in development — a small range built around the real experience of recovery, coming as the studio grows.

What's behind the name

Iaso (Ἰασώ) is the Greek goddess of recovery — one of the daughters of Asclepius, the god of medicine. Her sisters were Hygieia, who guarded health, and Panacea, who held the cure. Iaso's own domain was the getting-better itself: convalescence, the slow return to strength after illness or injury. She presided not over the diagnosis or the treatment, but over the recovery.

That is exactly the ground this brand stands on. Iaso isn't about medicine or cures — it's about the recovery: the long days of treatment and healing, and the comfort, dignity and small practical kindnesses that make them a little more bearable.

Assembled by Iaso for gift shops, carrying Aphrodite's soaps and body products inside: small comforts to bring to someone in hospital, or to keep for yourself.

Throughout the year we take our stalls to markets around Christchurch and Selwyn. Each market features one primary brand from the Theophora family — so you might find Hephaestus's mosaic substrates and finished art pieces at one, depending on the season.
